Team Of The Week – Week 4 – Season 12 – Super League

Starting XI

GK: BigGirlsNeedLov (Manchester United) – Kicking off our final TOTW this season is Manchester United’s goalie, BigGirlsNeedLov. Man United came out of nowhere this season and ended the season still able to win the title and this could be credited to BG and his play between the sticks. In 11 games he saved 46 shots, only conceding 8 goals in the process. He also picked up 5 clean sheets, 1 Man of the Match award, and finished the time period with an 18.76 PER rating.

CB: Wanygod (Benfica) – Formerly known as Tomori, Wany is embracing the name everyone knows him by and has continued his domination on the pitch. Benfica may have just missed out on their potential three peat with an inferior goal difference, but Wany was pivotal in allowing them to be the best defense in the Super League. In 10 games, Wanygod has gotten 13 tackles, 15 interceptions, 37 possessions won, 2 key passes, an insane 20.65 PER, and even 1 assist to end his campaign and potentially secure himself a TOTS selection.

CB: Austin l 33 l (Orlando Pirates) – The center of our defense this week is none other than the Orlando Pirates co-manager, Austin l 33 l. His form has risen dramatically after leaving AC Milan for the South African side and saw them get over the final hurdle and finish in a Super Cup spot. His defensive play is the main reason for their surge as in 10 matches, as Austin has accumulated 12 tackles, 26 interceptions, 46 possessions won, and 5 clean sheets.

CB: Lil iPurpp (Atlanta United) – The final piece of our back three is none other than Atlanta United’s star center back, Lil iPurpp. Purpp has quietly became one of the best CBs that PCN has to offer over the past couple seasons, with this campaign being the best that he has boasted for the American side. In his 10 most recent games, Purpp has picked up 12 tackles, 34 interceptions, 31 headers won, and 49 possessions won.

CDM: CM9 PT (Benfica) – Player of the Week – Our POTW this week is everyone’s favorite Portuguese defensive mid, CM9 PT. The former Chelsea man has continued his dominance in the heart of the midfield for Benfica as his team has threatened to become a dynasty that only rivals Juventus of the old days. CDM: IL A IK IE (Benfica) – CM9’s partner in crime in the middle of the pitch, lL A lK lE has shined for Benfica in his debut season for the club. Anyways, in his last 10 games, Lake has picked up 1 assist, 5 key passes, 30 tackles, 25 interceptions, and 60 possessions won.

RM: Criminal Casper (AC Milan) – Although AC Milan has not had a great season, there have been a couple of silver linings for their team. One of those has been the elite form that Criminal Casper has been in during the campaign. The former TOTS OM from Chelsea has shined for AC Milan this season, being one of their very few consistent players on the pitch. In 8 games, Casper scored 2 times while also adding 1 assist, 10 key passes, 17 tackles, and 1 Man of the Match award.

CAM: Spicy Beatle (Bayer Leverkusen) – A name that has not featured at all this season until now is the Bayer Leverkusen co-manager, SpicyBeatle. Spicy had previously won TOTS with Lazio last season but has somewhat slowed down a bit going into FIFA 20. He has finally earned himself a TOTW selection and with how he has been playing, there’s no reason as to why he can’t continue this form into the next campaign. In 7 games, Spicy has picked up 3 goals, 5 assists, 10 key passes, and an insane 23.46 PER.

LM: Belcatraz (Orlando Pirates) – Slotting in at the left mid position, Belcatraz has been one of Orlando’s key men this season as they have finished in a Super Cup spot in their first season in the Super League. The former Tottenham man has shined since moving from defense with Spurs to the midfield with the Pirates. LM: Maestro l 21 l (Orlando Pirates) – Joining his multiple Pirates teammates in Season 12’s final TOTW is the midfield “maestro,” Maestro l 21 l. With only 12 games played in his previous 2 seasons at AC Milan and River Plate, Maestro will be one of the more unfamiliar names in this TOTW to many in the PCN scene. However, Maestro is regarded by many in other leagues as a top midfielder, and he has proven throughout this season that he is more than capable of translating his elite caliber that he is known for over to PCN. In 10 fixtures, Maestro has netted 3 goals to go along with his 1 assist, 4 key passes, and a MOTM award.

ST: Winnie l 9 l (Manchester City) – The final bench spot for Season 12’s final TOTW goes to Man City’s striker, Winnie l 9 l. Winnie is known by many in PCN as a “giant killer” due to his knack of bagging goals against top teams, and he has backed up his reputation during this TOTW period, with goals against both Pirates and Inter Milan. After a disappointing end to the season for Man City, with a brutal 4-1 defeat to Lyon in the Royal Cup final, Winnie will hopefully find some consolidation in his first TOTW appearance for Season 12.
