Team Of The Week – Week 3 – Season 13 – Super League

Starting XI

GK: Apocryphion (Valencia) – The main man between the sticks this week in our SL TOTW #3 is none other than Valencia’s Apocryphion. Making his second team so far this season, Apoc has been nothing but spectacular for the newly promoted side as they look to finish in the top 6. In 7 games, Apoc picked up 23 saves and 6 clean sheets.

CB: Buckz19 x (Lyon) – Our first of two Lyon players who made it this week, Buckz has emerged as a star in the making for the French side. His leadership and overall talent in the back has helped transform what was once a team sitting just outside of the top six to a title contender, only three points behind Orlando with a game in hand. In 6 matches, Buckz racked up 17 interceptions, 17 headers won, 34 possessions won, and 4 clean sheets.

CB: AdamCoups (Valencia) – Our second center back, and Valencia player, is none other than the Irish journeyman AdamCoups. He has looked to have finally found a home with Valencia and has prospered so far in his return to the Super League, with his last stint being on Smoke Break’s Lyon squad back in Season 11. In 7 games, Adam has picked up 18 interceptions, 20 headers won, 31 possessions won, and 6 clean sheets.

CB: B4U3R10 (Tottenham) – The last person in our back three is Tottenham utility man and PCN admin, Bauer. Although his brother, B4U3R11, may be arguably the better Bauer, this one has earned himself a TOTW this season before him. Tottenham have been on the best run of form in the entire league, with Bauer’s contributions proving why they are a force to be reckoned with. In 6 matches, Bauer tallied 17 interceptions, 17 headers won, 23 possessions won, and 5 clean sheets for the North London giants.

CDM: Asadd 6 (LAFC) – Our first of three, yes three, LAFC players this week is none other than Assad 6. Although he likes to have a bit of an egotistical persona in the PCN Discord, he is a team player through and through when it comes down to it. LAFC has surpassed all expectations this season and Assad’s play in holding midfield has been influential to the entire team and also pivotal to their potential top 6 finish. In 6 games, Assad has picked up 1 assist, 20 tackles, 27 interceptions, 40 possessions won, and 5 clean sheets.

CDM: Fuji Sells (Valencia) – From a bench TOTW spot last week to a starting place this time around, Fuji has earned a place in the TOTW for the second week running. His defensive work has been the best in his career, earning 56 possessions won, 34 interceptions, and 24 tackles in 7 games. He also picked up 2 key passes and had an insane PER of 27.14 for this period.

RM: Sassinho x (LAFC) – Slotting in at right midfield, Sassinho joins his pal Assad in the starting lineup this week. His creativity has been marvelous for the American outfit while also providing defensive work that rivals his offense. In 8 games, Sassinho scored 4 goals and also picked up 3 assists, 16 key passes, 15 interceptions, and 24 possessions won.

LM: I John I (Chelsea) – John is a new man on the block at Stamford Bridge and has already made his mark. The utility man has reunited with his former AFCON boss and has rewarded his new employers with an excellent set of game days at left midfield. In 7 games, John has gotten 3 assists, 5 key passes, 18 tackles, 20 interceptions, and 25 possessions won.

CAM: l Sanders l (Tottenham) – Starting at CAM this week, Sanders has been a revelation for the Hotspurs. The former Manchester United player has found a home with Jigsaw and crew over the last season and a half and has rewarded them with a string of fine performances. In his last 8 games, Sanders has scored 4 times with 15 shots. He also picked up 1 assist, 6 key passes, 21 headers won, and 3 Man of the Match awards.

ST: Bailey Ince (Lyon) – POTW – Our player of the week goes to a man who has one TOTW selection on his resume already in Bailey Ince from Lyon. His side currently sits in second and his all-around play leading the front line has been crucial for their title push. In 6 games, Bailey scored and assisted 5 times, while also adding 11 key passes, 12 headers won, and a league-leading PER of 26.93.

ST: barney2goose (LAFC) – The last member of the starting lineup this week, and certainly not the least valuable, is Barney from LAFC. He is enjoying quite the rookie campaign in PCN, with his goal scoring and playmaking being crucial to a potent LAFC attack. In his last six games, he scored 6 times with 16 shots. He also picked up 2 assists, 9 key passes, and 2 Man of the Match awards.

BENCH

GK: Envy CK (Manchester United) – Earning a second consecutive TOTW, Envy is having a rookie season to remember. The shot stopper has been crucial to Manchester United’s lockdown defense. In 7 games, Envy saved 34 shots while only conceding 6 goals and keeping 2 clean sheets.

CB: TheTacoKid95 (Benfica / Orlando Pirates) – The new kid on the block for Orlando, Taco has found his old form of the last couple seasons as he made the switch from Benfica to Orlando during the transfer window. In 7 games, Taco obtained 15 tackles, 17 interceptions, 30 possessions won, and 5 clean sheets.

LB: Lycan Mixtec (Valencia) – Our lone fullback this week is the veteran Lycan Mixtec. Like his TOTW counterparts Fuji and AdamCoups, his defensive work has been crucial to the team’s success. In 7 matches, Lycan has added 4 key passes, 16 interceptions, 36 possessions won, and 6 clean sheets to a season with the potential to earn a TOTS selection.

CDM: xFayettevillain (Benfica) – The lone representative of a rather disappointing Benfica side, Fayettevillain has been a bit of a shining light for the Portuguese side. From finishing second off of goal difference to mid table obscurity, Fayette has emerged as a key player for Benfica in their season of transition. In 7 matches, Fayette has picked up 6 key passes, 18 tackles, 23 interceptions, 39 possessions won, and even one goal to put the cherry on top of an excellent set of game days.

CAM: AyeVols (Orlando Pirates) – Earning the last midfield spot this week is AyeVols from Orlando. The former L1 TOTS CB has moved to CAM over the last few seasons and has become one of, if not the best, attacking mid in the league. He drives the Orlando offense as they look to secure their first title since Season 8. In 8 games, Vols picked up 3 assists, 6 key passes, 15 interceptions, and 2 goals.

ST: Isco god (Chelsea) – Isco can finally have something to back up all of his talk in the PCN Discord as he has earned his first ever PCN TOTW. He has transitioned from outside mid to striker this season for the Blues and has been nothing short of magnificent of late. In 8 games, Isco scored 6 goals with 10 shots on target. He collected 3 assists, 8 key passes, 11 possessions won, and 2 Man of the Match awards.

ST: Frijolito8921 (Chelsea) – Our last man in the lineup is another Chelsea striker in Frijolito. Perhaps the exact opposite of Isco when it comes to personality, he has formed quite the partnership up top as they look to retool for next campaign. In 8 games, Frijo scored 7 goals and added on 2 assists, 5 key passes, 18 possessions won, and 1 Man of the Match award.
