Team Of The Week – Week 1 – Season 12 – League One

Starting XI

GK: Trevmister277 (AS Monaco) – With 41 saves, 6 clean sheets and just 3 goals conceded in 8 games, Trev is living up to his meister moniker. He’s conceding less than half a goal per game and needs just 3 more clean sheets to achieve his personal season best.

RB: sixgwad (Young Boys) – A PCN rookie, the sixgwad is hitting us with the work boy, grabbing a place in the very first TOTW! One of only 5 defenders to boast 7 clean sheets in the voting period, he’s also proven his comfort on the ball, with an impressive 94% passing rate.

CB: eXoTIC x TIGER (America) – Having already made more than double the appearances of his previous PCN seasons, TIGER is earning his stripes in Season 12. His 26 interceptions and 26 headers won are #1 in the defender category, while also ranking 3rd in tackles and possessions won.

CB: Matty D0T (Wolverhampton) – While he never shies away from a tackle, it’s his 23 interceptions, 23 headers won, and 7 clean sheets that finds the Super League experienced defender in the TOTW. An all-around solid performance from the Wolverhampton defender.

LB: LargeMightyCow (Young Boys) – This beastly bovine has been udderly impressive in his debut season. His 22 tackles led all defenders for the voting period, while conceding just 3 goals and keeping 7 clean sheets in 10 games. He’s also very secure in possession with a 90.67% pass success rate.

CDM: Slays I 6 I (Atalanta) – If you want to make TOTW, get good, ez pz. Slays is absolutely killing it right now with 21 more possessions won than the next highest midfielder. In his 3rd full season, he is on pace to crush his personal best in tackles and interceptions. It does raise the question though: is he too good for League One?

CM: AIR JESUS o 99 (LAFC) – Second only to Slays in possessions won, 3rd in tackles, with just 4 goals conceded and three MOTM awards, Air Jesus from LAFC is walking on water. He managed to rack up these numbers in just 8.5 games, having served a suspension for a sending off. Hallelujah.

CM: Love Welty (Atalanta) – Our next player hasn’t appeared in PCN since Season 8, but he has previously won both TOTS and TOTY! He currently leads all midfielders in goals and is 2nd in assists. Suffice to say, when he shows up, he comes to play.

RW: Expect Bills (LAFC) – With 4 goals, 2 assists and 6 key passes in just 7 games, the LAFC man is on his way to a breakout season. He has already surpassed his output from Season 11 and tied his previous best goal tally. He’s been a key player in LAFC’s success to date.

ST: Death Row Tull (Valencia) – POTW – The veteran and highly decorated hitman is at it again with 15 goals in 9 matches. He has been pivotal in leading his team to a current 1st place standing. At this pace he could beat his previous season-best of 39 goals in 24 games (Season 11).

LW: oX M A M B A Xo (Valencia) – Much like his strike partner, Death Row Tull, this venomous front man continues to produce at a level that has seen him win TOTS, POTS and Golden Boot in seasons past. He tallied 9 goals, 7 assists and 16 key passes in just 8 games.

BENCH

GK: Pure Vegetable (Wolverhampton) – After making just 10 appearances in Season 11 he is back and in great form. He currently boasts the most clean sheets in League One and needs just two more to match his previous season best.

CB: Munkey Stanks (LAFC) – In his 2nd PCN season, after making 17 Super League appearances in Season 11, the Munkey Man is having himself a breakout campaign. A mainstay in the stingy LAFC backline, he has already matched or beaten many of his stats from last season in just 10 games. He tied for the most possessions won among defenders for the voting period.

LB: Lycan Mixtec (Valencia) – This Lycan no longer represents Wolves, but he hasn’t let an early season team change slow him down. He tied for most possessions won for a defender and was 2nd in tackles. His excellent form has contributed to his Valencia side being top of the pack.

CM: QF x Coutinho x (Young Boys) – Another player having a breakout season, Coutinho has been bossing the midfield. Not only was he 2nd in midfield tackles for the voting period, but he carries an impressive 90.53% passing accuracy on 169 attempts without even mentioning his 20 interceptions.

CAM: Saul Goodman Jr (Valencia) – The Voice of PCN, and everyone’s favorite junior counselor, Saul is off to a very solid start after making the switch from CB to midfield. He led all midfielders with 5 assists and added 10 key passes in just 8 games. His defensive savvy is also showing with 17 tackles and 28 interceptions.

ST: RobertoS713 (Atalanta) – The veteran player and two time Super League winner is in fine early season form. With 10 goals in 10 games, he’s proving that he can perform in every tier of PCN, having won TOTS honors in Super League and League Two previously.

ST: o SMOKE BREAK o (Wolverhampton) – No stranger to the scoresheet or TOTW, the big man has multiple seasons of 20+ goals and is well on his way again, with 9 goals in 10 games for the period. Not only does he score, but he’s also shown his commitment to defending from the front with 10 tackles and 13 interceptions so far.
