Team Of The Season – Season 12 – Super League

Starting XI

GK: Strikers98 (Benfica) – The main man in between the sticks for Benfica, Strikers has ascended to legendary status as he earns another TOTS selection. The young shot stopper has been crucial to the Benfica dynasty of Season 10 through Season 12, becoming one of, if not, the best goalie that PCN has to offer. In 35 matches, Strikers saved just 81 shots but he also kept 25 clean sheets, by far the most in the league and a new record. He also only allowed 10 goals, giving him an insane average of 0.29 goals allowed per game. He deservingly earned the starting job and will definitely look to keep this monstrous form going into the next campaign.

RB: Bellerin l 2 l (Arsenal / Manchester United) – Slotting into the right back spot is none other than Man United’s dominant fullback, Bellerin. The former Super League and League One champion has finally earned himself a TOTS selection after a fine campaign for the Red Devils. Although he more well known as an attacking threat, his defensive work has really been the main factor for his individual and team success. In just 27 games, Bellerin dominated the opposition’s left flank by picking up 49 tackles, 62 interceptions, 117 possessions won, and 13 clean sheets.

CB: Wanygod (Benfica) – Another player to earn his first ever TOTS is seasoned veteran Wanygod. Having previously played for River Plate and Tottenham in his career, he has found a home in Benfica and was a huge part of their success this season. He is arguably ones of the best center backs in the league and his dominance this campaign has only helped his case. In 37 games, Wany totaled 2 goals, 2 assists, 49 tackles, 63 interceptions, 150 possessions won, and 26 clean sheets, while also leading all center backs with a 20.11 PER.

CB: OldMR Peanut (Manchester United) – Moving onto Wany’s partner in this starting XI is another seasoned veteran of PCN in Peanut. The center back has been somewhat of a journeyman in his career and has elevated his game to a whole new level for the Red Devils as they had one of the best defenses in all of the Super League during S12. In 37 games, Peanut had a league-leading 166 possessions won and 55 tackles for a defender, while also picking up 73 interceptions, 20 clean sheets, and even 5 assists.

LB: Vanquish I 8 I (Benfica) – In what could be seen as the most surprising input into the TOTS from a casual perspective, Vanquish has turned his career around at Benfica. Known for being a dynamic but at times predictable dribbler off of the wing, Vanquish has found new success in playing fullback for Benfica, and his form this season was more than enough to earn himself his first ever TOTS selection in PCN. In 34 games, Vanquish had a league leading 16 clean sheets and 70 headers won for outside backs while also adding 7 key passes, 44 tackles, 63 interceptions, and 117 possessions won to his final tally.

CDM: LaZo I X I (Manchester City) – There was only one representative from the Blues of Manchester with that being their unstoppable ball-winning midfielder in Lazo l X l. The Mexican defensive midfielder has been by far the best player for Manchester City this season as they reached the final of the Royal Cup, while also finishing comfortably in mid table. He is 100% their key player to build around for next season as they will want to push to bring their first piece of silverware to the club since the departure of longtime manager, TheLastKing. In 36 matches for the Cityzens, Lazo racked up 5 assists, 95 tackles, 138 interceptions, 234 possessions won, and 14 clean sheets.

CDM: CM9 PT (Benfica) – Partnering with Lazo in the middle of the park is last season’s POTS DM in CM9 PT. The newest editor to PCN and also the newest addition to the TOTS, CM9 had yet another brilliant campaign in the Super League. He took his talents to Benfica for this season and was instrumental in their title push and their PCN Cup victory. A bright and inspiring presence in the locker room and in the PCN Discord, CM9 is in the form of his career and is showing no signs of slowing down. In 37 games, CM9 tallied 97 tackles, 136 interceptions, 229 possessions won, and 14 clean sheets.

RAM: Cozy Bryant (AC Milan / Manchester United) – The Bozy Baller Brand is back and has earned himself a spot back in the TOTS for the first time since his League One season with Tottenham. The dynamic attacking midfielder traded in his black and red stripes of AC Milan and found success at Manchester United, ultimately reviving his career and reminding the new generation that an old dog can indeed learn new tricks. In 34 games, Bozy picked up 6 goals, 11 assists, 32 key passes, and 53 tackles.

CAM: G0atlas (Atlanta United) – The classic road to glory story, G0atlas has risen from the depths of League Two to now earning his first Super League TOTS selection. Sitting in the middle of the park as the lone CAM, Goatlas was a part of a creative trio that elevated Atlanta United to a third place finish and ultimately a Super Cup victory over Inter Milan. The co-manager of the American side has been as clinical as he is creative, scoring 12 times, while also collecting 7 assists and 29 key passes. He also added 5 Man of the Match awards, an astounding 85.8 passing percentage, and averaged 0.51 goals or assists per game, the highest out of any central attacking midfielder.

LAM: Shmurddaa Pollo (Atlanta United) – Another returning face in the TOTS is none other than the Dominican legend himself, Shmurddaa Pollo. The winger has had a more advanced role with ATL this campaign and had the best season to date in his career. Although his team fell just short of the title, his creativity and ability to change the game at a moment’s notice was the main reason as to why he earned himself yet another TOTS. In 37 matches, Shmurddaa led the league in assists with 17 dimes and led all wingers with 10 goals. He also picked up 45 key passes, 55 interceptions, and 101 possessions won, while adding 6 goals and 6 assists in all cup competitions.

ST: lxSTONExl (Benfica) – The lone man up top and your golden boot winner for S12, Stone has shown exactly why he deserves to be in the talk of the best strikers in all of PCN. The Stone Zone was by far Benfica’s best offensive talent, and his ability to score almost out of nowhere has been a key factor to Benfica’s long standing dominance. In 36 games, Stone scored 31 times with 70 shots on target and 98 total, giving him a conversion rate of 32%. He also got 7 assists and an insane 13 Man of the Match awards during this time.

BENCH

GK: Biggirlsneedlov (Manchester United) – The backup goalie in this season’s TOTS is the Red Devils shot stopper, BG. Formerly of Liverpool, he raised eyebrows from the Manchester United fan base as he switched allegiances from their biggest rival. However, they will be viewing this signing as an absolute steal as he has been one of the breakout goalies of the season. His brilliant performances between the sticks translated to points earned for Manchester United and their eventual 4th place finish last term. In 35 games, BG saved 105 shots while only allowing 22 goals, picking up 19 clean sheets along the way.

CB: Prime Libero (Atlanta United) – Returning after earning TOTS for the past two seasons is none other than Libero. Formerly going by Futty, his play at the heart of the ATL defense has been crucial to the team’s glory this season and he will be the main man to build around for seasons to come for Eksisle and crew. In 35 games, Libero picked up 84 interceptions, 90 headers won, 129 possessions won, and 20 clean sheets.

CB: Lil IPurpp (Atlanta United) – Another returning player, albeit in a new kit, is Lil Purpp. Trading in the blue and black stripes of Inter Milan for the red and black stripes of ATL, Purpp and Libero formed arguably the best CB duo in PCN this season as they both have earned a TOTS selection. If the rumors are true, he will be bringing his play with him to Arsenal as he will be reuniting with his old friend in Bdon. In 37 games, Purpp collected 82 interceptions, 99 headers won, 133 possessions won, and 20 clean sheets.

CDM: Zidane I7I (Real Madrid) – The lone representative of the newly promoted Real Madrid is none other than their gaffer, DADJOB. The mountain man has had arguably his best season of his career to date as his side almost qualified for the Super Cup in their first season back in the top flight since Season 7 (almost two years ago!). His defensive work was almost unrivaled as in 36 games, FATHERWORK had 78 tackles, 143 interceptions, 212 possessions won, and a league-leading 19 clean sheets for a defensive midfielder.

RM: Stu I 91 I (Orlando Pirates) – The first of two Orlando Pirates players to earn their first TOTS selection is their utility man in Stu. He can play anywhere along the wing whether it is in the attack or in the defensive line and was instrumental in their first season back in the Super League. In 35 games, Stu scored 9 times and added 6 assists, giving himself a league-best 0.43 goal or assist per game for right wingers. He also had 15 key passes, 47 tackles, 61 interceptions, and 119 possessions won.

ST: bgod43rd (Manchester United) – Manchester United may have fallen just short of the title, but BGod has enjoyed life back in the Super League. He played for Real Madrid last term and helped them earn promotion back up to the top flight and kept up that form for the Red Devils this season. In 37 matches, BGod scored 29 goals with 67 shots on target. He also picked up 8 assists, 25 key passes, and 11 Man of the Match awards.

ST: Dox thibeault (Orlando Pirates) – The final selection of the TOTS is none other than Orlando’s prolific target man, Thibeault, A veteran of other leagues, he has brought his emphatic finishing to the Super League and was pivotal to Orlando’s season and success. The target man found the back of the net 26 times with only 46 shots on target and 55 overall, giving him a league leading conversion rate of 47%. He also managed to pick up 4 assists, 56 headers won, and 27 key passes in 31 games.
