Team Of The Season – Season 11 – League One

Starting XI

GK: ll LucaBrasi ll (Schalke 04) – Starting things off in between the sticks for our L1 Team of the Season is the busiest man in PCN for S11, ll LucaBrasi ll from Schalke 04. Luca was a one man army at times for the German club as he smashed the old saves record for the league with 185 this season to go with 53 goals allowed, 6 clean sheets, and 2 MOTM in 31 games. Schalke almost certainly would have been relegated without his incredible performances all season long, and it will be fascinating to see where Luca can go from here and if this is just the start of an incredible PCN career.

CB: Unlucky Masters (Orlando Pirates) – One major reason why Orlando Pirates was able to claim this season’s L1 crown was the incredible consistency of their defense led by the gaffer and our first TOTS defender Unlucky Masters. Masters was a force to be reckoned with all season long as he and his center back partners smashed the old clean sheet record with 19 during S11 in addition to 2 goals, 6 assists, 56 passing points, 58 interceptions, 115 possessions won, 19 goals allowed, 6 MOTM, and a league-high 22.40 DEF PER in 29 matches. Tracking Masters and his Orlando squad as they make the move up to Super League next season will be one of the story lines to watch this fall.

CB: P3TER SAVAGE (Real Madrid) – After seasons of talking the talk, Real Madrid’s P3TER SAVAGE has finally done his part in walking the walk this season as he was a real standout in the Spanish side’s runner up finish. P3TER was an offensive revelation in addition to being a stalwart defender as he racked up 2 goals, 8 assists, 15 key passes, 81 passing points (2nd), 57 interceptions, 121 possessions won against just 38 lost, 35 goals allowed, 7 clean sheets, and 2 MOTM in 29 games. Chants of “P3ter P3ter Striker Eater” could be heard from the stands of the Bernabeu as the season wore on and Madrid pushed on to their 2nd place finish in no small part due to the efforts of their standout CB.

CB: ZoePound v3 (Orlando Pirates) – The second piece of the Orlando back line pie in this TOTS fits in nicely on the outside of our back three is ZPK v2, who was clearly the upgraded model Pirates needed to secure the title in S11. ZPK was as consistent as you could ask for from a defender as he equaled the new clean sheet record with 19 to go along with 3 goals, 67 passing points, 54 interceptions, 133 possessions won against 36 lost, and 16 goals allowed during his 28 matches. All eyes will be on the incredible Orlando defense in S12 to see if they can maintain their pace and push the club on for a possible run at the top of the SL table.

CDM: xRiF Tootall (Sevilla) – The first of a pair of TOTS debutantes in the base of our midfield, Sevilla’s Xrif Tootall had a massive impact on his team’s playoff chances despite not being available for the full season. Tootall live up to his tall tale and told other teams all season to go away with his 66 passing points, 46 tackles, 84 interceptions (3rd), 137 possessions won against 49 lost, 33 goals allowed, 8 clean sheets, and 4 MOTM in only 24 games. With more availability next FIFA, perhaps Tootall can build on his impressive S11 and establish himself as a true midfield masher in PCN.

CDM: kawaiioniiichan (Braga) – One of the absolute standout players in League 1 this season, perhaps no player was an easier choice to represent his team in the TOTS than Kawaiioniiichan. Kawaii was a destroyer of worlds for the Braga side as he set incredible new records for both interceptions (114) and possessions won (193) before even considering his 3 assists, 80 passing points (3rd), 67 tackles (T-2nd), 45 goals allowed, 7 clean sheets, 5 MOTM, and an impressive 20.12 PER in 30 matches. Kawaii certainly has the looks of a true all-around beast of a CDM, and all of us in PCN are looking forward to his follow up effort in FIFA 20.

RM: Bendtner x (Real Madrid) – Well you can’t say that Bendtner x hasn’t proved himself a true L1 All-Star at this point in his career as he secured his record 3rd L1 TOTS in addition to helping his third separate team make the jump to SL football. Bendtner was able to earn his 3rd honor in his third different position (CM, ST, RM) as he tallied 7 goals, 12 assists, 31 key passes, 68 interceptions, 116 possessions won, and 3 MOTM in 30 games for the Galacticos. With his TOTS honor and promotion, Bendtner will have to ply his trade in PCN’s top division once again though it remains to be seen what team and position Bendtner will be exploring next in S12.

CAM: x jway x (Bayern Munich) – While his team did narrowly miss out on making the promotion playoffs on goal difference, Bayern’s x jway x certainly did his part in trying to get his team over the line and back into Super League. Jway earns his second ever L1 TOTS by way of doing it all with a balanced stat line of 13 goals, 11 assists, 35 key passes, 48 tackles, 71 interceptions, 108 possessions won, and 8 MOTM across a full slate of action in S11. With his sterling reputation as both a manager and player, surely Jway and co. will bounce back and make an even better promotion fight in S12.

LM: Hinkleyy (Frankfurt) – Perhaps one of the surprise players on one of the surprise teams this season in L1, Frankfurt’s manager and winger extraordinaire Hinkleyy was a shoo-in for the left mid spot in our TOTS. Hinkleyy was a nuisance to defenses all season whether out at a LW or slightly further back at LM as he led his side to a 5th place finish while totaling 18 goals, 12 assists, 28 key passes, 21 tackles, 81 possessions won, and 9 MOTM in just 25 matches. Hopefully, Hinkleyy and his crew run it back next season as they try to improve upon their top 6 finish and make it up to Super League by S13.

ST: DEATH ROW TULL (Valencia) – There are great strikers and great goalscorers and then there is Death Row Tull from Valencia, who has put up two dumbfounding seasons in a row in front of goal to easily earn his spot in the TOTS. Death Row followed up his S10 L2 Golden Boot and TOTS with an insane league-leading 39 goals, 7 assists, 17 key passes, 50 passing points, 9 MOTM, and an otherworldly 28.41 ST PER in just 24 games. There is perhaps no striker whose stock is higher going into S12 after the incredible job he has done for his Spanish club two seasons in a row (62 goals in 35 games), and whether he gets tempted to jump ship or sticks around for a third season under ogfear remains to be seen.

ST: Leak l 13 l (Borussia Dortmund) – What an incredible season from the man who stayed in-form for a full season as Dortmund’s manager and main man up top Leak l 13 l earned both promotion and a TOTS in his first season back in L1. Leak led by example on and off the field and set a new MOTM record in L1 with 13 honors to go with 37 goals (2nd), 14 assists (T-3rd), and 20 key passes in 30 games. Leak’s first season in PCN back in S5 resulted in a L1 promotion and TOTS with his old club Lyon, and now he will get the chance to compete against them with Dortmund in their first SL campaign since S8.

BENCH

GK: MotoSierra21 (Sevilla) – Backing up Luca after a very close vote for who would get the starting spot in our TOTS is veteran MotoSierra21 from Sevilla, who spent the past couple of seasons with Inter helping them win a number of cups. Moto decided to move on after his former club was able to secure the services of Phil The Fish, and he was rewarded in his efforts with a TOTS after finishing the season with 166 saves (2nd), 47 goals allowed, 6 CS, and 4 MOTM in 29 games for the Spanish outfit.

CB: Knight17 x (Valencia) – The knight is always hardest to dribble past before the dawn I hear, and Knight 17x from Valencia proved that time and time again during this season as he grabs the final center back spot in our team. Knight did a bit of everything for his team and his balanced effort featuring 7 assists, 13 key passes, 76 interceptions, 16 blocks (3rd), 113 possessions won, 46 goals allowed, 8 clean sheets, and 4 MOTM across 30 matches was a key factor in Valencia’s promotion push.

LB: Medic (Borussia Dortmund) – Well it may have taken a few seasons but one of the PCN OG’s in M3DIC from Borussia Dortmund has finally earned his first ever TOTS honor after making the switch from his longtime spot in CDM to LB in S11. M3DIC was active as ever on defense but also showed some impressive ball retention skills as he finished his season with 56 passing points, 26 tackles, 56 interceptions, 86 possessions won against just 50 lost, 23 goals allowed, 5 clean sheets, and 3 MOTM in only 23 games for the 3rd placed Germans.

CDM: TriniKorea x (Valencia) – Another season for MISTERBON at Valencia and another TOTS honor as the brick wall was a key piece of the Spanish defensive efforts whether he was holding it down at CDM or occasionally filling in on the back line. MISTERBDON’s can’t stop, won’t stop style of play establish a new L1 record for tackles with 75 to go with 87 interceptions (2nd), 141 possessions won (3rd), 48 goals allowed, 8 clean sheets, and 4 MOTM in 32 matches.

CAM: Evo21x (Orlando Pirates) – Probably one of the most under the radar star players in PCN (for some), Evo 21x finally has an individual honor with a L1 TOTS this season to go with his two SL titles, one L1 title, and World Cup title that he has earned in 4 seasons. Evo is truly a game changing offensive talent, and he earned a spot in our team despite a shortened 22 game season with 8 goals, 10 assists, 26 key passes, 30 interceptions, and 72 possessions won.

ST: oX M A M B A Xo (Valencia) – Our third Valencia man in this squad and our third who won a TOTS honor last season for the club as oX M A M B A Xo had another incredible season playing the creative striker role alongside Death Row Tull. Mamba managed another 20/20 season as he led the league in assists (21) and key passes (46), not to mention his 22 goals and 3 MOTM that he was able to accumulate in 32 games of action in S11.

ST: bgod43rd (Real Madrid) – Rounding out the Season 11 Team of the Season in League One is the very talented and experienced Bgod43rd from Real Madrid, who’s one season drop into L1 football results in a promotion and TOTS honor. Bgod formed an impressive partnership with My Seraph and narrowly edged out his teammate and Shamrock from Braga for this spot as he contributed 33 goals (T-3rd), 11 assists, 35 key passes, and 7 MOTM in 31 games this campaign.
